Spring Term 2025

Seize the season and Dragon Tales – Spring Term 2025 Nursery
Welcome back! The Spring term is now in full swing, but I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy New Year and to thank you for the thoughtful gifts and vouchers.
Our topics for the term are Dragon Tales and Seize the Season.
Dragon Tales focuses on humanities and allows children to explore the historical and fantastical world of castles, including the lives of the people who lived and worked in them during the Middle Ages. Children will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of cultural stories, activities, and events that celebrate elements of Welsh heritage and tradition.
Seize the Season will delve into different celebrations and seasonal weather throughout the term.
We will also be following the children’s individual interests and curiosities to enrich their learning experience.
The children have been making great progress with Phase 1 phonics. This term, we will continue building on Phase 1 and begin introducing Phase 2 phonics.
In the classroom, the children are working hard to learn how to write their names. You can support them at home by encouraging them to start with a capital letter and form each letter correctly. If you’d like me to show you how to form any letters, please don’t hesitate to ask.
To help with letter formation, we are using Read Write Inc. rhymes, which have been shared on Seesaw.
PE lessons will continue to take place on Thursday mornings. Please ensure all children come to school dressed in their PE kit, and make sure all clothing items are clearly labelled.
As the children spend a lot of time outdoors, please ensure they have a warm coat. We also kindly ask that gloves, hats, and scarves are clearly labelled. If possible, please include a spare change of clothing in your child’s bag and return any borrowed items of clothing from school.
We kindly request that children do not bring toys from home to Nursery, as this often leads to upset when toys are misplaced or when other children want to play with them

Thank you once again for your support – please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, or concerns.
We’re excited about all the learning and fun ahead this term.
