School Council
Introduction
At Pendoylan CiW Primary School, we believe it is important for pupils to take ownership of their learning and have greater roles in school decision-making. We provide many opportunities for children to play a role in making the decisions that affect them. We recognise that pupils have logical perspectives and opinions on issues that matter in the classroom, in the school and in the community. We give pupils an active role in influencing decisions about these issues as well as in the implementation of these decisions. We enable our pupils to participate as active young citizens.
Our School Council is made up of elected representatives of pupils from Years 3 through to Year 6.
The school council meet regularly with Mrs Vaughan and other school leaders to promote and organise events that work towards achieving the school council yearly goals that they have set. The overarching goals for 2024-2025:
- Raise money for worthy causes – causes that we are passionate about.
- Make every member of the school enjoy being in Pendoylan.
- Make playtimes a place where everyone can play with a friend.
- Help our Friends Committee (PTA) fundraise for resources.
- Set a competition for each class to create a photograph to show how they ‘Belong’ to Pendoylan School. The winners of this competition will have their photograph enlarged and put up in our new community room.
- Be involved with other Pupil Voice groups to support their goals throughout the year.
