Community Ambassadors

The Community Ambassador Group meets regularly with members of the Community to decide on targets which will improve our local area. During 2024-25 there are a number of targets we would like to achieve. Firstly concentrating on the 20mph speed limit that is established outside our school. We want to keep the speed limit at 20mph and we have written to the Welsh Government asking to keep the speed limit through the village. We are awaiting a response. The Community Ambassadors did an assembly about the importance of keeping speed low past the school and then set a competition for the Juniors to design a poster to keep the 20mph speed limit and the winners will be put up throughout the school and community.  Keeping the school tidy is very important to us and we intend to do another assembly on littering and the impact it has on the environment and then ensure we do a litter pick on a monthly basis. As Community Ambassadors we are involved in school activities at playtime and enjoy going on FPH yard to play with the younger children and teach them games to play and as ambassadors for the school we also involve ourselves with the  Eco Committee and School Council and help with events that are organised such as Fair Trade Coffee Morning, Children in Need and Comic Relief. We look forward again this year to invite the community in to listen and watch our concerts and serve them tea and cake and enjoy talking to the residents of Pendoylan Community. Areas that the ambassadors themselves are concerned about, include climate change and looking after our environment, mental health issues, having more places and choices for secondary schools and ensuring there is equality for all.
